Grab a few friends and put your meat smoking and chili making prowess to the test against your fellow UP Dads. We will have multiple categories in this competition:
- 1. Chili (2:00 p.m. turn in time for judging)
- 2. Anything Goes (4:00 turn in time)
- 3. Ribs (5:00 turn in time)
- 4. Pork Shoulder (5:30 turn in time)
- 5. Brisket (6:00 turn in time)
Or, if smoking meat/cooking isn’t your thing, come and enjoy some cold refreshments and great food made by your fellow Dad’s Club members–you don’t need to field a cooking team to participate.
When: Saturday October 30th. Feel free to arrive any time. Burgers and hotdogs will be available starting around noon, and the main courses will be available according to the schedule above. If you are fielding a cooking team, you may arrive as early as you need to (arrangements can be made for a Friday evening arrival if necessary for those smoking brisket). Announcement of all category winners and the Fall Classic Grand Champion will take place between 6:30-7:00.
Where: Parking lot at 5944 Luther Lane (since the parking lot will be full of smokers, tents and tailgating equipment, we strongly encourage everyone to Uber/Lyft/Alto as parking will be limited).
Cost: Tickets will be $100/person and will include all food (see above) and an open bar (all day). If you want to participate in the cooking competition, the entry fee will be $200/team and will include 3 tickets.
